(National Asian Pacific American Law Student Association) — Lallane Guiao-Seng hails from the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands. She has served as a 1L Representative, Treasurer, and now National Asian Pacific American Bar Association Representative for UConn Law’s Asian Pacific American Law Students Association or APALSA. In addition, she has served as Treasurer for the Older Wiser Law Students and as Parliamentarian for the Student Bar Association. Lallane is also the Senior Articles Editor for the Connecticut Public Interest Law Journal.
Despite being an evening student, she dedicates her time to advocating for her community through various APALSA events as well as partaking in other initiatives focused on cross-cultural collaboration. She has participated on student panels where she highlights her desire to bring greater visibility to underrepresented Asian American and Pacific Islander or AAPI communities. Lallane was also featured on NBC Connecticut for her commitment to returning to the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands to serve her AAPI community after law school. She frequently draws upon her lived experience as an AAPI student raised in a U.S. territory, bringing that perspective to both her academic work and her broader involvement in the legal community.
As a leader, Lallane remains a passionate advocate for the AAPI community and continues to champion outreach and collaboration across the UConn Law community and beyond.
