BY providing housing and business support to visiting veterinarians, Casa Marianas, the CNMI’s first co-working hub, is partnering with Saipan Humane Society and Saipan Cares for Animals to address the shortage of veterinary care in the islands.
In a statement on Wednesday, Casa Marianas co-founder Blaine Graboyes said their mission “has always been to serve as a headquarters for the community, not just for business, but for the betterment of island life.” He added that by hosting visiting veterinarians, “we are removing one of the biggest logistical and financial hurdles these non-profits face. We want these medical professionals to rest well and work effectively so they can focus entirely on caring for Saipan’s animals.”
The collaboration with local animal care advocates, he said, “aims to alleviate the critical shortage of veterinary care in the CNMI by providing sponsored accommodations, workspace, and logistical support for visiting veterinary doctors and other professionals.”
“The CNMI has long faced challenges in securing consistent, full-time veterinary services, relying heavily on visiting medical teams to perform spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations, and emergency care. This new partnership bridges a vital gap: while animal welfare groups coordinate the medical talent, Casa Marianas will ensure these doctors have a world-class base of operations,” Graboyes said.
Under the partnership, Casa Marianas will serve as the official hospitality partner for incoming veterinary teams. The support package includes:
• Sponsored accommodations. Casa Marianas will provide visiting veterinarians with high-quality, long-stay rooms at the Gold Beach Hotel location, ensuring a comfortable recovery space after long days of clinics.
• Business center access. Visiting veterinarians will have full access to Casa Marianas’ business services, including high-speed fiber-backed internet, office and conference spaces, printing, notary services, and other business amenities.
• Community hub access. Casa Marianas will serve as a central location for workshops and meetings with local animal welfare leadership and to coordinate clinic logistics.

This collaboration marks a rare and vital unification of resources between the private and non-profit sectors.
“Housing is one of the most significant costs we face when bringing island veterinary specialists to Saipan,” Amber Weston, executive director of the Saipan Humane Society, said. “Casa Marianas’ support allows us to redirect those limited funds straight into lifesaving medical care, including surgeries, medications, and preventative treatment. This kind of partnership strengthens not only animal health but the wellbeing of our entire community. Healthier animals mean healthier families. Their generosity truly allows us to help more animals in need.”
For her part, Saipan Cares for Animals Vice President Yumiko Brundidge said, “The veterinary shortage affects everyone, from pet owners to public health. Having a community partner like Casa Marianas that understands the value of this work makes our goal of consistent care much more achievable.”
