Governor David M. Apatang on Wednesday approved four local appropriation measures for Saipan.
Co-authored by Rep. Angelo A. Camacho and Rep. Thomas John Manglona, House Local Bill 24-28 is now Saipan Local Law 24-12. It appropriates $221,649 from the developer infrastructure tax for the construction, renovation, and repair of speed bumps, bus shelters, restrooms, crosswalks, and the installation of street lights, traffic signs, and road repairs in Precinct 5.
Co-authored by Rep. Joel C. Camacho and Rep. Malcolm Omar, H.L.B. 24-30 is now S.L.L. 24-13. It allocates $48,450 in leftover funds from annual casino license fees for the Natibu Sports Association, supporting repairs and improvements at the Capital Hill Softball Field dugouts, and the Talabwogh Stars Association for youth sports programs and activities.
Authored by Saipan and Northern Islands Legislative Delegation chairman Rep. John Paul Sablan, H.L.B. 24-32 is now S.L.L. 24-14. It allocates $78,900 from casino fee remainders for the construction and renovation of four Guma Higais at the Civic Center in Susupe.
Also authored by Rep. Joel Camacho and Rep. Omar, H.L.B. 24-33 is now S.L.L. 24-15. It amends S.L.L. 24-5 to reflect the accurate fund certification—identifying $84,500 (rather than $85,500)—also for repair and maintenance of the Capital Hill softball field.
