








(Office of the CNMI Governor) — Governor David M. Apatang has formally submitted a series of judicial nominations to the CNMI Senate aimed at ensuring continuity, stability, and effective leadership within the Commonwealth’s judicial system.
Governor Apatang nominated Presiding Judge Roberto C. Naraja to serve as associate justice of the CNMI Supreme Court. In conjunction with this nomination, the Governor also nominated Associate Judge Joseph James Norita Camacho to succeed Judge Naraja as presiding judge of the CNMI Superior Court.
Additionally, Governor Apatang nominated former Attorney General and former Tinian Mayor Joey Patrick San Nicolas to fill the resulting vacancy as associate judge of the Superior Court.
The administration respectfully urges the Senate to act expeditiously on these nominations to prevent any disruption to court operations and to preserve the orderly and effective functioning of the Commonwealth’s judicial system.
Lt. Gov. Dennis C. Mendiola emphasized that these nominations mark an important moment for both the judiciary and the Commonwealth. He noted that the proposed leadership reflects the continued enhancement of the administration of justice, while honoring mutual respect for the Commonwealth’s history, customs, and collective sense of fairness.
Governor Apatang and Lieutenant Governor Mendiola reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to a strong, independent judiciary that serves the people of the Commonwealth with integrity, fairness, and respect for the rule of law.
