HONEST Profit International Ltd. on Tuesday hosted the Chinese Association of Saipan’s lion dance ritual as the world celebrated the arrival of the Lunar Year of the Fire Horse.

After the lion dance, firecrackers were set off to ward off evil spirits and welcome good fortune. In celebration of the Lunar New Year, Win Win Way Corporation, the company contracted by Honest Profit to build the future Saipan Marriott Resort & Spa, also provided food for attendees.

Joining them were acting Gov. Dennis James Mendiola, House Speaker Edmund S. Villagomez, Sen. Manny Gregory T. Castro, Rep. John Paul Sablan, Rep. Elias Rangamar, Department of Public Lands Secretary Sixto Igisomar, and DPL Planning Director Patricia Rasa.

Win Win Way Corporation President Jim HS Kan wished everyone in the CNMI a Happy Lunar New Year. He expressed hope that the Commonwealth will overcome its challenges and that the Saipan Marriott Resort & Spa will open this year, providing more job opportunities for local residents.

Villagomez also wished a Happy Lunar New Year to everyone, especially the Chinese community, on behalf of the Legislature and the people of the CNMI. He thanked the company and all those involved in the hotel project for their continued interest in investing in the CNMI “even in these trying times.”

“Your investment is a symbol of the hope we continue to have,” the speaker said.

The Chinese Association of Saipan also performed the 2026 Chinese New Year Lion Dance at 30 other business establishments on Saipan, including Crowne Plaza Resort Saipan, Atkins Kroll, and Tan Siu Lin Plaza.

According to Chinese tradition, the Year of the Horse is a symbol of forward movement, independence, and endurance, representing strength, grace, loyalty, freedom, and success.
