AFTER seeing a list of Saipan villages indicating the percentage status of water supply service in each area, residents of Kannat Tabla are wondering why their village — which still does not have water service — was not included on the list. “Everywhere already has partial water supply. Why 0% in Kannat Tabla?” one resident asked.
According to the CNMI Joint Information Center, Kannat Tabla’s water system was completely destroyed, but the Commonwealth Utilities Corporation installed a bypass valve the other day, and residents should now have water service, or at least some water pressure. As of Friday, May 8, 100% of Kannat Tabla had scheduled water service, though not 24-hour service at this time.
Residents experiencing issues in areas expected to have water service are advised to call CUC at 670-664-4282.
