THE operations of the Legislature returned to normal on Monday, May 11, 2026, after a temporarily reduced work schedule was implemented due to the impact of Super Typhoon Sinlaku.

In a joint memorandum dated May 1, 2026, Speaker Edmund S. Villagomez and Senate President Kark King-Nabors said that, as the legislative branch continues cleanup and recovery efforts following Super Typhoon Sinlaku, a temporary work schedule had to be implemented from May 4 to May 8, 2026.

Aside from Austerity Monday on May 4, 2026, the Legislature was also closed on Tuesday, May 5, and Thursday, May 7, 2026. It was open only on Wednesday, May 6, and Friday, May 8, from 8 a.m. to 12 noon.

Villagomez and King-Nabors noted that administrative leave was granted to staff during all non-operating hours. Unless otherwise notified, they said, the legislative branch would resume normal operations on Monday, May 11, 2026.
