MCDONALD’S Restaurant of Saipan and Guam reaffirmed its commitment to the community by extending financial assistance to local organizations to support disaster relief efforts in the aftermath of Super Typhoon Sinlaku.

On Wednesday at the Middle Road branch, McDonald’s Restaurant of Saipan and Guam Vice President Joe Ayuyu Jr. and owner/operator Marcia Ayuyu presented a $10,000 donation to the American Red Cross-NMI Chapter to support ongoing relief efforts.

“Being able to give back to our community, especially families following a natural disaster, is important to us,” Marcia Ayuyu said.

“Our community does so much for us, so being able to contribute to an organization like the American Red Cross that directly supports families is something that McDonald’s is more than happy to do,” she added.

The American Red Cross of the Northern Mariana Islands provides aid to people across the Commonwealth. Its services include disaster response and recovery, humanitarian assistance, training and certification, and emergency support programs.

Marcia Ayuyu also thanked American Red Cross team members who traveled from abroad to assist the community, saying, “We just want to thank you for all your efforts, especially for leaving your families and homes to come help our community. We greatly appreciate it.”

‘From the bottom of our hearts’

McDonald’s Restaurant of Saipan and Guam Vice President Joe Ayuyu Jr. said, “It’s really from the bottom of our hearts that we want to help the community as much as we can.”

He said the donation is intended to help those in dire need during these trying times.

McDonald’s Saipan expressed gratitude for the opportunity to support the community during the disaster and thanked partners such as the American Red Cross-NMI Chapter for their year-round service.

In response to the donation, American Red Cross Community Disaster Program Manager JD Tenorio said, “Generosity is the heart of humanity. Thank you, Ayuyu family, for your donation to Red Cross disaster relief efforts. Your kindness brings hope, healing, and strength to those affected in times of need.”
