AS recovery from Super Typhoon Sinlaku continues, more private schools across the CNMI are reopening, with Green Meadow School preparing to welcome students back tomorrow after teachers and school personnel led campus cleanup efforts last week.
The reopening adds to a growing list of private institutions that have resumed operations shortly after the storm.
Among the first to reopen were EUCON International University and EUCON International School, which announced their reopening on April 20, just days after Sinlaku passed through the islands.
Agape Christian School also reopened its Middle Road campus on April 20 following repairs to storm-related damage.
Saipan Community School resumed full-day classes by April 23 while operating on generator power. The school said some damaged sections of the campus remain secured, while breakfast and lunch continue to be provided to assist families during recovery.
Mount Carmel School said its target re-opening date is Monday, May 4, 2026. However, this “date is tentative and subject to change based on the progress of our cleanup and safety inspections. We will provide regular updates throughout the coming days,” MCS stated.
Meanwhile, the CNMI Public School System is preparing for its next phase of reopening, with more than 1,000 teaching and non-teaching personnel scheduled to return to their respective campuses on April 30 to begin cleanup and restoration work.
