New law directs $220,000 in gaming fees to MINA, SNILD

GOVERNOR David M. Apatang has signed into law House Local Bill 24-53, which appropriates $220,000 in electronic gambling license fee collections for the Mariana Islands Nature Alliance and the operations of the Saipan and Northern Islands Legislative Delegation.

The measure is now Saipan Local Law 24-28. It was authored by Rep. Ralph N. Yumul and co-sponsored by Speaker Edmund S. Villagomez, Vice Speaker Diego Vincent F. Camacho, House Floor Leader Marissa Flores, and Reps. Blas Jonathan Attao, Angelo A. Camacho, Joel C. Camacho, John Paul Sablan, Thomas John Manglona, Joseph Flores, Raymond U. Palacios, and Elias Rangamar,

The new law appropriates the local gambling license fee collections as follows:

• $10,000 for the Mariana Islands Nature Alliance

• $210,000 for the operations of the Saipan and Northern Islands Legislative Delegation

The SNILD passed the spending measure following the Department of Finance’s balance certification showing that the electronic gaming license fee collections account had an ending balance of $338,000 for fiscal year 2026.
