DISASTER loan approvals in the Commonwealth have surpassed $2 million as the U.S. Small Business Administration continues processing applications tied to Typhoon Sinlaku recovery, according to SBA Public Affairs Specialist Raenada Mason.
As of May 17, the agency had approved loans for homeowners, renters, nonprofits, and businesses affected by the April storm. Mason said SBA staff are seeing steady demand and are encouraging all survivors — including small, home-based, and service-sector operators — to apply for assistance.
She said individuals who are unsure about their eligibility can visit the Survivor Recovery Center in Susupe, where SBA representatives are available for in-person guidance.
The SBA also reported receiving 103 disaster loan applications in May, with additional filings expected as outreach continues.
