Led by Dennis Villagomez, Commonwealth Utilities Corporation power plant electrical supervisor, CUC electrical staff and Guam Power Authority transformer technicians continue working together to test transformers collected from the field following Super Typhoon Sinlaku. These tests help determine whether the transformers can be safely recommissioned and returned to service to support ongoing power restoration efforts across the island. So far, 11 transformers have successfully passed testing and are being prepared for reuse. The photos were taken on Tuesday, May 12, outside CUC’s power plant in Lower Base, Saipan.
