A WOMAN conducting a bird count with a biologist on Rota last week fell off a cliff and was later medevaced to Guam for treatment, Variety learned.

The Department of Public Safety has not yet issued an official statement on the incident. However, sources told Variety that the woman appeared to be dehydrated and fainted, causing her to fall.

Rota DPS Resident Director Chris Cabrera, reached by phone Thursday, said they are preparing a report and expects to release details soon.

The woman, who has been recovering in Guam following the medevac, is expected to return to Rota on Tuesday.
