The mayor’s executive secretary, Vinycia Seman, said Mafnas’ nomination was confirmed by the Saipan and Northern Islands Legislative Delegation on Tuesday.
Mayor Donald G. Flores reappointed Mafnas and Josephine T. Sablan last month.
In his letter to Flores, delegation chairman Rep. Ramon A. Tebuteb said Mafnas’ term will start on March 22, 2011 and expire on March 21, 2013.
Seman said the mayor’s office received the drug test result of Sablan on Tuesday, and this was why the delegation could not immediately deliberate on her confirmation.
Before his reappointment, Mafnas served the unexpired term of then-SHEFA Chairwoman and Vice Speaker Felicidad T. Ogumoro which ended on March 11.
