Lin Kai Qi is facing charges of assault and battery and disturbing the peace in Superior Court for the assault of Sun Maomei.
Detective Catherine B. Pangelinan told the court a police unit was dispatched to a reported domestic violence incident at QQ Store south of Kimchi Cabana in western Garapan around 2:34 a.m. last Wednesday.
She said Officer Alex Sakisat noted bruises on the victim’s arms and wrists and learned from her that she was punched, pulled and pushed by Lin.
Sun said she was inside the store with her nephew when Lin came in.
Lin asked her why her nephew was using the computer and then unplugged the power.
Then they went to a room at the back of the store.
There, the victim said Lin pulled her arms and punched her on the left side of the head causing it to hit the right side of the door.
Apparently, the incident was recorded by a camera at the store.
The victim later managed to call Phil Kalen, a security guard at the building, who tried to help and intervene but Lin managed to get away.
The responding police officer then radioed the description of Lin’s vehicle to his colleague who was on a street patrol at that time.
Lin’s car was spotted along Lovi’s Emporium in Chalan Kanoa.
He was stopped for a traffic violation and the victim later came to the scene to positively identify him as the one who assaulted her.
“Officer Norbert Mettao who happens to be at the traffic light by Micro Corp. spotted the white Nissan Sentra heading south. Officer Mettao followed the vehicle and made a violator stop for traffic violation…. Officer Sakisat did escort Sun who identified the driver to be her boyfriend. Lin was arrested at 3:07 a.m. by Officer Mettao on charges of disturbing the peace and assault and battery,” Pangelinan said in her sworn affidavit filed in court.
