Superior Court Presiding Judge Robert C. Naraja retained the $1,250 bail order on Bisek, who is being held on charges of assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.
The court directed Bisek not to have any contact with his victim, and to stay away at least 200 yards from the victim’s residence or at her work.
Bisek was remanded to the custody of the Department of Corrections after his initial appearance and bail hearing yesterday morning.
The court ordered the prosecution to file its complaint not later than Tuesday next week.
Assistant Attorney General Eileen Wisor represented the government, while Assistant Public Defender Benjamin Petersburg was appointed Bisek’s counsel.
Detective Elias Saralu said on Monday, at about 11:51 a.m., police were dispatched to a reported domestic violence incident in Upper Miha housing in Garapan.
Police met the victim crying, and with bruises on her left shoulder, left forehead, and a scratch on her left elbow.
Prior to the incident, the victim told police she woke up early in the morning that day and noticed that Bisek was not around.
She decided to walk around with her sister-in-law, but after less than an hour, the victim decided to return home.
Before she reached the house, the victim noticed Bisek behind her.
“Out of nowhere [Bisek] started punching [the victim] back,” Saralu said, adding the victim ran to the backside of the house, but Bisek chased her.
When the defendant caught up with the victim, Bisek punched her on the head and back, kicked her on the left side of her ribcage, police said.
While Bisek was beating her up, the victim said the defendant kept on saying she shouldn’t go to the M1 area, police said.
Bisek only stopped hitting his victim when the defendant heard police siren. The defendant escaped.
A witness who saw Bisek punching the victim called for police assistance.
