Man arrested for burglary in hotel parking lot

Ray is being held on the charge of burglary.

Superior Court Associate David A. Wiseman retained the $5,000 cash bail earlier imposed by Associate Judge Perry B. Inos.

Ray made his initial court appearance yesterday under the custody of the Department of Corrections.

Assistant Attorney General Eli Golob represented the government while Chief Public Defender Adam Hardwicke appeared for Ray.

Detective Jonathan Decena said Mr. Hossain of the Hyatt Regency Hotel called 911 at about 3:32 a.m. on Monday and reported a burglary that occurred in the hotel’s parking lot.

Officer Jay Cabrera met with security guards Jonathan Aguon and Fidel Selepeo together with a man, later identified as Ray.

When asked what he was doing inside the truck, Ray told Cabrera that the vehicle belonged to a friend named Jun.

Cabrera then called DPS dispatch for a read out on the pick-up  and learned that the vehicle was registered to Ikejiri Tsuyoshi.

Ray said the driver’s side of the pick-up was unlocked so he started looking for money inside the vehicle.
