SUPERIOR Court Judge Joseph N. Camacho imposed a $100,000 cash bail on Alvin Jacob I. Blas, also known as “AJ,” who is accused of selling $100 worth of methamphetamine or “ice” to an informant on two occasions.
Blas, 36, was charged with trafficking of a controlled substance.
At a bail hearing on Monday, Blas was represented by Assistant Public Defender Emily Thomsen while Chief Prosecutor Chester Hinds appeared for the government.
After the hearing, Judge Camacho remanded Blas to the custody of the Department of Corrections and ordered him to return to court on April 30 at 10 a.m. for a preliminary hearing, and on May 5 at 9 a.m. for arraignment.
According to the prosecution, the Department of Public Safety-Drug Enforcement Task Force conducted two buy-walk operations, during which a cooperating source bought from Blas $50 worth of meth on each of these two occasions: on Feb. 21, 2025 and on March 4, 2025.
DETF operatives monitored and video-recorded the operations, and the substance procured from Blas on two occasions tested positive for methamphetamine, the prosecution stated.
No other information about Blas was available as of press time Tuesday evening.
