According to Department of Public Safety spokesman Jason T. Tarkong, DPS received the report of the stabbing incident at about 1 a.m. on Monday.
He said police officers were dispatched to the Commonwealth Health Center emergency room and met the victim whose name was withheld pending investigation.
Police learned that the victim was at his home in Fina Sisu Apartments and had been drinking alcohol earlier that night with one of his roommates, 28-year-old He Jiao.
Tarkong said the victim fell asleep and wokeup later to find the suspect playing video games with the volume too loud.
The victim confronted the suspect and they got into a fight.
Police learned that the suspect managed to get a knife from the kitchen and stabbed the victim repeatedly.
Tarkong said the suspect was at the hospital when police were conducting their investigation.
He said the suspect admitted to getting into a fight with the victim and stabbing him.
Police Officer Alexander Sakisat arrested He Jiao for assault with a dangerous weapon.
The suspect was transported to the Department of Corrections for booking and detention.
Tarkong said the victim sustained eight stab wounds, which included two stabs to the back of the head, a stab wound on his left forearm, in the right side of his chest area, back, and on his right index finger.
The victim was in stable condition at CHC.
Tarkong said the suspect sustained no injuries from the fight.
