Superior Court Presiding Judge Robert C. Naraja at the same time credited the 10 days already served by the 42-year-old Noonan Phillip at the Department of Corrections facility.Noonan Phillip pleaded nolo contendere, or no contest, to disturbing the peace as a crime of domestic violence.
Noonan Phillip and his brother Mino, 34, were each charged with assault and battery, and disturbing the peace.
Naraja dismissed the charge of assault and battery against Noonan Phillip.
The court granted the motion of G. Anthony Long, counsel for Noonan Phillip, to convert the $50 fine to 10 hours community work service.
The court required Noonan Phillip to pay a $25 court assessment fee within 30 days, and a $60 probation fee payable within three months.
Assistant Attorney General Peter B. Prestley prosecuted the case.
Police said the Phillip brothers, who were already drunk, arrived home in Garapan and had an argument on Christmas Day.
Noonan Phillip punched his brother Mino Phillip in the face, and they continued their fight outside.
