Man gets suspended jail sentence for theft

Superior Court Presiding Judge Robert Naraja yesterday imposed a three-year imprisonment sentence, but all suspended, except for 32 days with credit for 25 days time already serve.

The remaining seven-day jail term started on Monday and will end on Feb. 8, 2010.

Villanueva, 23, will also be placed under supervised probation for 11 months and 28 days under the direction and supervision of the Office of Adult Probation.

Villanueva will pay a $100 assessment fee within 30 days after his release, and a $100 probation fee payable within two years.

Moreover, he will perform 100 hours of community service.

Villanueva’s co-defendants — Kolmar Datius, 21, and Nelsin Saimon, 22 — are yet to be tried in court.
