Yesterday, Manglona changed his plea before U.S. District Court for the NMI Designated Judge David A. Wiseman.
Manglona, his attorney G. Anthony Long and Assistant U.S. Attorney James J. Benedetto signed a 10-page plea agreement.
Manglona was indicted on Hobbs Act robbery charge.
Wiseman asked Manglona as to his understanding of his constitutional rights, his right to trial and his understanding of the plea agreement.
Every element of the plea agreement was reviewed by Wiseman with Manglona.
Benedetto reported to the court what they would be able to prove the charge if the case proceeded to trial.
After finding he was fully competent to enter a knowing and voluntary plea, Wiseman accepted Manglona’s guilty plea.
Wiseman ordered a presentence investigation report to be submitted by Dec. 22, and the sentencing hearing was set for Jan. 26, 2010.
The court ordered Manglona to remain at liberty but to comply with the conditions previously set.
In the plea agreement, both parties stipulated that Manglona and his co-conspirator Wilbur Vic Masga Inos entered Rota Poker in Songsong, Rota on Aug. 4, 2008.
Armed with a loaded Colt .223 rifle, Inos took $3,475 from the cashier.
Manglona owned the rifle that Inos used to rob the poker arcade, the plea agreement stated.
Inos was sentenced to seven years in prison after he pleaded guilty to one count of use of a firearm in the commission of a violent crime.
