Emiliana Angui sustained a fractured right collar bone, abrasions and bruises on the right side of her face, and in her hands and abdominal area, according to Detective Dennis M. Reyes.
He said the victim jumped from the vehicle after she refused to join her boyfriend, Mario Muna Reyes, purchase “drugs from someone.”
Mario Reyes grabbed her shirt causing her to go under the car while the vehicle was still moving, Detective Reyes said.
The defendant stopped the car, picked up the victim but refused to bring her to the hospital. The victim was brought to CHC by the defendant’s mother.
The victim told police that the defendant would always beat her up and sometimes burn her body with cigarettes.
Associate Judge David Wiseman imposed $25,000 cash bail on Mario Reyes, who is being held on charges of assault and battery, aggravated assault and battery, disturbing the peace, and assault with a dangerous weapon.
He was remanded to the custody of the Department of Corrections after the hearing.
