Manamko’ attend drama class

The course includes a practice session for a film in which the manamko’ will play different characters.

The film will be screened to raise funds for the elderly.

“Some of them can already portray lead roles while some are still learning. They have to showcase different emotions such as sorrow and humor,” said Office on Aging program coordinator Walter Manglona.

Lead roles were given to Jesus Kisa, Pacita Angeles and Manuel Mesa.

“I’m very excited because they chose the right persons. I’m practicing my role,” said Kisa.

“I’m trying my skills in acting. I’m trying my best for this project,” said Angeles.

“I’m excited to be part of it,”  Mesa said.

The manamko’ will also have field trips this year to the different locations that will be included in the movie.

“We can shoot it and put it on video for the future,” said Rose Mondala acting director of the Office on Aging.

“This is part of the learning process for the manamko’.  Some of them are not from here. So they don’t know a lot of our historic sites. And I want them to start to have access to these places,” she added.
