Only 64 senior citizens were able to cast their votes as some were either sick or had other appointments, Mondala said.
There were 14 invalid ballots.
Walter Manglona, the program coordinator of the Aging Office, said they assisted the congregates who had difficulty in reading and understanding the instructions.
The election “was very good and it ran smoothly,” Mondala said.
There were 16 candidates and the eight winners were Jose Torres, Christiana Michael, Franciso Reyes, Meryalen Conrad, Teresita Sorroza, Nancy Nannay, Rosario Ibanez and Earl Nannay.
Before Sept. 30, they will choose among themselves who will be president, vice president, secretary and treasurer.
“I want to be tough with this council this time,” Mondala said.
She wants to make the council’s programs more effective so it can have more accomplishments.
