(MANGO) — Leadership from the Marianas Alliance of Non-Governmental Organizations recently met with Lt. Gov. David Apatang to present key initiatives, share insights on the nonprofit sector, and seek support for grant activities aimed at enhancing the impact of nonprofit organizations in the CNMI.
The meeting emphasized MANGO’s pivotal role in empowering local nonprofits through capacity building, advocacy, and resource mobilization.
During the discussion, MANGO representatives highlighted their flagship project, Giving Voice to Native Nonprofits, which focuses on increasing nonprofit inclusion in state planning activities, creating a comprehensive database of CNMI nonprofits, and equipping organizations with effective program data management tools.
Apatang expressed gratitude for MANGO’s dedicated efforts to preserve cultural traditions, promote sustainable practices, and strengthen the nonprofit sector’s contributions to the community. He acknowledged the importance of supporting nonprofits in addressing community needs and pledged to explore ways the administration can collaborate with MANGO to achieve shared goals.
“This collaboration is a significant step forward for MANGO as we continue to amplify the voices of nonprofits that play an essential role in shaping the future of the CNMI,” said Frances Sablan, executive director of MANGO. “We are grateful for the opportunity to discuss how the government can partner with us to address pressing community needs and support long-term development goals.”
