Brian Aguon, 39, was assaulted by a minor with brass knuckles.
POLICE arrested three intoxicated young men, including a minor, who assaulted another man with brass knuckles, Assistant Chief of Police Simon Manacop said.
The suspects arrested were Joenash Enriquez, 24, Ricky Santos, 20, and a 16-year-old minor.
Manacop said the incident occurred on Tuesday near the Mount Carmel social hall.
“Parents had gone out looking for their two children who were not at home yet. The parents found them with the three suspects by the social hall. When the father approached the son to check what was going on, he was punched by one of the suspects with brass knuckles,” Manacop said.
“His injuries will be considered if the minor will be charged as an adult,” he added.
The victim, Brian Aguon, 39, told Variety on Wednesday that the minor “sucker punched” him with brass knuckles.
Aguon said he was waiting for his two minor boys, ages 15 and 16, to come home from Marianas High School on Tuesday afternoon.
“My boys usually walk to the house from school but were running late. I called one of my sons, but he did not answer his cell phone. So I decided, with my wife, to drive to the area where they usually walk,” Aguon said.
“At the social hall, I saw my sons being confronted and surrounded by three other male boys and I got down and talked to them, but one of the boys became aggressive. I took out my phone because I wanted to get some photos and videos because I don’t know who they are. As I was facing the other guys, I got punched by the minor. I was not on guard, he came from my right side, and I didn’t see him,” Aguon said.
“I was reeling from the punch and was bleeding, and when I tried to call the police that’s when the boys started running away,” he added.
Aguon said he asked his sons how the incident started.
According to his sons, they were walking home from school and “saw the three guys drinking by the social hall.”
“As they passed the three guys, the [suspects] started accosting them, asking them who they are and where they’re from,” Aguon said.
He said his sons told him that they didn’t know the suspects and had never encountered them before.
Aguon was brought to the hospital for injuries sustained from the incident. He said he will sue each of the suspects for the incident and the injury he sustained.
