He said the soil erosion in the area is so bad that the men’s and women’s restrooms are sinking.
He said this may potentially cause an environmental problem as well as inconvenience residents and tourists who visit the area.
“The water from the ocean is working its way into the toilets,” he told this reporter. “When that restroom falls on the ocean what’s the public going to use? People frequent the area to have picnics, barbeque or to swim. I want the governor to talk to the federal government to address this problem.”
Seawater has seeped into the concrete foundation of the restroom, causing the iron that binds the structure to fall apart.
Brundidge is originally from Alabama and came to know Saipan when he was stationed on Guam as a sailor.
He left the U.S. Navy many years ago and now operates his lawncare business, the Mozell’s Boys.
He said it’s frustrating to see Saipan’s natural environment becoming ugly through mismanagement.
“It’s also frustrating to see trees fall down one by one and now the toilets,” he said.
