ATTORNEY Joe “Joey” McDoulett, a former Federal Bureau of Investigation agent who was reported missing Saturday, was found early Sunday morning, the Department of Public Safety said.

He was in stable condition with no visible injuries, DPS added.

McDoulett, 54, was found near Saipan Shipping in Lower Base, walking on the shoulder of the highway, Variety learned.

His wife, Rhea McDoulett, expressed relief that her husband was found, and expressed her gratitude to those who helped find him.

In an interview on Sunday afternoon, she said, “I am very thankful for the assistance of DPS — they really worked hard.”

She also thanked the Saipan Hash House Harriers Club members. “They had been … searching for him in Marpi, Calabera, Bird Island. I want to say thank you to all of them … and the local and federal authorities as well for helping find Joey.”

She added, “Give us a little time, and a little privacy…to process all the things that have happened. It’s really hard when you experience this kind of situation. It’s physically, mentally, and emotionally draining. I couldn’t think of anything else but to look for and worry about Joey. The people who sent a message to me or who tried to call me — I was not able to reply because I was so worried, and I was only thinking of finding my husband.”

She said “Joey is okay now…and let’s just wait for him to get better.”

Asked why her husband left their Chinatown residence on Friday noon, she said, “Joey was just thinking things through…I’m glad he is back home safe.”

Variety learned that an individual saw McDoulett walking in Tanapag on Saturday evening. When the individual asked McDoulett if he needed assistance, the lawyer said no. The individual then called McDoulett’s wife and told her where he last saw McDoulett.

According to DPS, after he was found, the Department of Fire and Emergency Medical Services medics arrived at the location and transported him to the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. for further medical treatment.
