The results indicated that:
• Out of the current workforce, three people are smokers
• 61 percent are alcohol drinkers
• 44 percent are sakau drinkers
• 53 percent don’t eat the recommended daily servings of fruits and vegetable
• 100 percent of the workforce sit most of the time
• 75 percent take taxi or drive to work
• 20 percent are overweight
• 55 percent are obese
•5 percent have high blood pressure
• 20 percent have high total blood cholesterol
• 25 percent are having diabetes and
• 10 percent have low hemoglobin level or are having iron deficiency
A schedule for conducting this survey for the other FSM departments/offices will be provided at a later date through a memorandum from the president’s office.
