In her letter to delegation chairman John Paul Sablan, municipal council chairwoman, Debra T. Camacho, on behalf of the two other council members, extended her gratitude to the delegation for allocating $39,000 to the council in Saipan Local Law 21-5, which was signed by Lt. Gov. Arnold Palacios in an acting capacity as governor on July 19, 2020.
She said the contract for the vehicle was put on hold due to the cost-containment measure that the administration implemented on Feb. 10, 2020. Then, the Covid-19 pandemic hit the Commonwealth, which further delayed the procurement process for the vehicle.
“I am very happy to inform you that on Aug. 20, 2020, the council’s vehicle was released to us by the Office of Procurement and Supply. It was a struggle worth proceeding and working hard for. For this, we thank you,” Camacho told Sablan.
