At the scene, officers noticed an SUV tilted on its right side, stuck in the stormwater basin about 12 feet deep. Officers tried to gain a response from the operator as they awaited medics. Once medics arrived they extracted the operator from the vehicle and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation as they transported the sole-occupant to the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp. CHCC Dr. Nelson pronounced the operator dead at 10:12 a.m., due to sudden cardiac arrest.
At this time, the identity of the individual is being withheld in respect to the family. This case is under further investigation. Based on witnesses’ statements and evidence gathered from the crash scene, the operator suffered some kind of medical emergency which caused the operator to lose control of the vehicle leading to the crash.
