MVA’s top travelers: Maratita, Guerrero

MVA spent a total of $74,287 on travel from Oct. 2006 to Sept. 30, 2008.

MVA records showed that in FYs 2007 and 2008, the board spent $47,385 and $26,901 on travel.

Maratita spent $12,705 in FY 2007 and $13,643 in FY 2008.

The Rota member’s  combined travel expenses amounted to $26,348.

He made 23 trips in FY 2007 and 24 business travels in the following fiscal year.

JM Guerrero of Saipan spent $12,088  on his 12 official trips — $8,409 in FY 2007 and $3,679 in FY 2008.

Board member Yoichi Matsumura incurred a total of $8,277 in travel expenses: $4,770 in FY 2007 and $3,507 in FY 2008.

Deborah Fleming’s combined travel expenses amounted to $8,158 for the two fiscal years. She made 21 official trips.

Board vice chairwoman Marian Pierce-Aldan recorded five official trips for MVA and incurred a total of $7,469 in travels  all made in FY 2007.

Emma Villagomez spent $4,098 for her four travels in FY 2007.

The other members and the costs incurred for their travels: Byung Kyu Park, $2,938, four trips, FY 2007; Seiji Sato, $2,892, three  trips, FY 2007; Waynold Pangelinan, $1,769 for one trip, FY 2007; and Rita Arkle, $246 for a single trip, FY 2007.
