The female victim was stuck under water for about a minute before other witnesses saw her head appear above the water. At that time, one of the divers ran up to call for help.
Other witnesses in the area managed to pull the victim out of the water. The victim was responsive and breathing. Cardiopulmonary resuscitation or CPR did not have to be performed, but the victim was placed on a spine board and transported to the Commonwealth Health Center where she was treated for lacerations, abrasions, and bruising. The victim refused to be admitted after treatment.
