Last week, the task force visited the elementary schools of Koblerville, Dandan, San Antonio, San Vicente, Oleai and William S. Reyes.
Saipan and Northern Islands Municipal Council Chairman Ramon B. Camacho, the prime mover of the task force, said they wanted to reach out to the parents.
The meetings, he added, were very successful and many expressed support for the program, he said.
Camacho visited San Antonio; Rose Ada-Hocog, Koblerville; Calistro Reyes, Dandan; Mitch Aron, San Vicente; Bill Torres, Oleai; and Janice Tenorio, WSR.
At San Antonio, Camacho emphasized the importance of the task force’s program against criminality.
“This is not a political group. This is about the community,” he said.
He encouraged teachers and parents to get involved in the village revitalization program, saying the task force is focused on safety and health issues in the community.
“Let us start building up our relationship among our neighbors,” he said.
San Antonio PTA president John Dela Cruz said Camacho’s remarks were very informative.
Cruz urged parents and other members of the community to join the task force and help maintain peace in their villages.
“Let us have a passion in keeping our neighborhood safe,” he added.
Camacho said they will continue to attend PTA meetings of other schools.
