Neighborhood Watch Task Force to join Liberation Day parade

During its Friday meeting, the task force said it will mobilize  its  members representing different villages.

The task force is also discussing with the CNMI Citizen Corps the possibility of having one  float for the two groups.

Both have already agreed to work collaboratively in an information campaign regarding their programs.

The task force will also be working with the CNMI Community Emergency Response Team, one of the Citizen Corps’ programs.

Former Rep. William S. Torres, the task force consultant, said they may distribute baseball caps, leaflets and other items to help educate community about their association.

The CNMI Citizen Corps, for its part, may distribute emergency kits to adults and children during the Liberation Day celebration.

“We need to reach out to the community, educate people and recruit more members,” Torres said.

He said the 2010 Liberation Day is a “perfect” occasion to present the task force to the community.
