KASSANDRA Knoff, the CNMI’s new civil division assistant attorney general, was sworn in by Chief Justice Alexandro Castro at the Guma’ Hustisia on Friday.
Knoff was born in Kansas City, Kansas, and graduated from Howard University School of Law in 2021. For her undergraduate studies, she went to the University of Kansas and majored in English and Korean.
Knoff said she has moved a lot.
“I accepted the job in Saipan for a few reasons. I was not excited about the career I was in (commercial lending, banking and finance), and had been looking for avenues to pivot to work that would allow me to do environmental protection. This job offered me the opportunity to get experience in public service, specifically in environmental areas. Plus, it’s an adventure!” Knoff said.
Her hobbies include painting, drawing, arts and crafts, and spending time with her cats.
“I’ve always loved snorkeling, which I’ve been doing a lot since moving here, and I plan to get my dive certification soon,” she added.
“Asked what her impression of the island is, Knoff said, “So far, I love it here. Everyone has been very friendly and helpful while I go through the process of settling in. Many are very willing to lend a helping hand when I struggle with something. I’m thrilled to be here and can’t wait to keep learning and contributing to my new community.”
Knoff started working for the CNMI Office of the Attorney General on Oct. 7, 2024.
