On Friday, some block captains installed donated trash bins in different villages.
Tanapag block captain Sebastian Tajibmai said the private sector should be commended for supporting community projects.
In this time of hardship, he said, partnership with the business sector is very important.
Camacho said the drums that were turned into trash bins were donated by the Commonwealth Utilities Corp. and IP&E.
Ericco Enterprises helped cleaned the drums while Laolao Bay Golf Resort painted them, he added.
Inmates of the Department of Corrections also helped transport the drums.
“We are happy and grateful for their support. This is for a good cause,” Camacho said.
The trash bins should help community members keep their villages clean, he added.
The task force distributed eight drums in Kagman, six in Tanapag and eight in Precinct 1 which includes Dandan and Koblerville.
Dandan block captain Frank Camacho said they placed at least two drums at every school bus stop in the village.
He said the $15,000 appropriated by the Saipan and Northern Islands Legislative Delegation for the task force will be distributed among the six precincts for outreach and development programs beneficial to the community.
Camacho is encouraging other companies to donate drums.
