The new logo was a project of the Student Council and was designed by Kayana Reyes, a sixth grader last year.
Reyes’ name is embroidered in the uniform and she was also given one free uniform.
Salas said they have two kinds of uniform in two colors: light yellow and green.
One has the traditional logo that features a canary, while the other logo designed by Reyes shows the bird on top of a Latte stone with a star and mwar.
The uniform is available in polo shirts or t-shirts.
It was the school’s Parent Teacher Student Association that decided the adoption of a new uniform last year.
“The students are very excited and happy about it,” Salas said.
Repair projects
SVES has also started renovating and repairing its facilities.
This includes the replacement of the tiles in classrooms, roof coating, replacement of doors and windows and the exterior re-painting of school buildings.
The air-conditioning units will also be replaced.
These projects are funded by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
Salas said classes are not being disrupted since the repair work is being done during weekends and holidays.
This school year, SVES has 645 students.
