The group “did a very good job,” Aging Center program director Walter Manglona said, adding that the manamko’ were very grateful for the performance.
Amber Mendiola, the music society president, said it was their first time to perform for the members congregate.
Fifteen of the group’s 40 members joined the presentation with their adviser Daniel Kintol. The others were attending classes.
They also visited Joeten Susupe, the Hyatt, the Commonwealth Health Center, Hafai Adai Hotel and Saipan World Resort.
Mendiola said their group is being sponsored by KKMP Radio, Pacific Development Inc., Top Development Inc., Pacific Trading Company and the Marianas Visitors Authority.
“Witnessing the series of performances from students is very uplifting,” said Senior Citizens Advisory Council president Teresita Sorroza.
Also yesterday, Manglona, a recording artist, showed the manamko’ how to sing “Silent Night” in two different versions.
He played the ukulele while senior citizens Maryalen Condrad, Alejandra Blas and Taling Buenavente sang Christmas carols in Chamorro, Carolinian and Japanese.
Today, the manamko’ will exchange gifts at the center where officers and members of the Hotel Association of the Northern Mariana Islands are expected to visit.
