Students who can’t register are requested to inform the college why they cannot enroll.
As of Friday, over 900 students had already registered.
Leo Pangelinan, NMC dean of student services, said in an e-mail that the number of students who register is an initial indicator of the college’s “innovative marketing and recruitment efforts.”
NMC, he added, has provided solutions to students’ complaints about the registration process by putting up “clearance station booths.”
The booths provide assistance to students in filling out forms and informing them about the registration process.
Pangelinan said this is NMC’s response to the long lines and long waiting hours experienced by the students during the previous semester.
NMC facilities manager John Guerrero, for his part, assured students of better facilities for this semester.
The maintenance staff of the college, he said, used the holiday season to perform big maintenance projects that they were not able to complete due to ongoing classes last semester.
Maintenance activities conducted during the semestral break included thorough cleaning of all student areas on campus, painting work in designated classrooms and other areas, routine inspection of the electrical system, replacement of ballasts and bulbs, routine inspection of the plumbing system, and repair and replacement of defective fixtures.
