NMC seeks more donors to finance projects

Northern Marianas College has vowed to intensify its fund-raising efforts through the Capital Campaign Plan.

“This proposed Capital Campaign is a comprehensive institutional advancement strategy organized to general funds through private donations, corporate givings, fund-raising events, pledge-drives and other contributions from public and private support,” an NMC report reads.

On Wednesday, acting NMC President Barbara Moir and Tony V. Deleon Guerrero, director for development and alumni relations, accepted a $5,000 check from Wushin Corp., a dealer of LPG bottles, bulk gas and LPG material and supply.

Wushin General Manager Enoch Sung-Soo Lim, along with Eloy T. Dela Cruz, Wushin’s administration and customer service manager and Joe L. Digno, the company accountant, handed the check to Moir and Guerrero.

Wushin said their donation shows their commitment to actively help the local community.

NMC’s Capital Campaign Plan is envisioned to run for at least three years beginning this year.

NMC’s report said the campaign “is an intense fund-raising effort that requires a collaborative working relationship between internal and external stakeholders of NMC.”
