“We are still working and debating about it because it is a tedious process that needs to be reviewed carefully,” ASNMC treasurer Mindy Park said.
Park conducted a research on the proposal and found out that majority of schools abroad call their student leadership body “Student Senate.”
Three more students from the As Terlaje campus, one from Rota, one from Tinian and representatives from various NMC academic programs will be needed to fill up the proposed Student Senate seats if the proposal is approved.
Park said they are still working with NMC’s administrators since “the term ‘ASNMC’ was the student body’s first name when it was chartered.”
She said their goal “is to have this new constitution passed before the end of our term”
ASNMC was established in 1986, and its president represents the students during meetings of the board of regents.
