If it pushes through, the 15-minute display will start at 8:30 p.m. in the dock area of the Liberation carnival grounds at the Garapan Fishing Base.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Coast Guard, the CNMI Emergency Management Office, and the CNMI Department of Public Safety have finalized all the precautionary measures that have to be implemented, Variety was told.
Tenorio said “everything is now in place” including the maintenance of peace and order, crowd control and accommodations.
Tina C. Pangelinan, chairwoman of the Liberation Queen Committee, said newly crowned Liberation Queen Kaylynn Angelynn L. Sablan will be joined by Royal Princess Haoting Zhang Romolor, 1st Princess Carley V. Laniyo and 2nd Princess Luciann Marie M. Indalecio in today’s parade.
In an interview, Sablan said she thought Romolor would win. Romolor was on the cover of Beach Road Magazine on March issue and was one of the models in a local fashion show.
“I’m really excited to win,” Sablan said.
For the parade, Frank Tudela, Logistic and Transportation Committee chairman, said Triple J Motors will provide at least 10 vehicles to escort the VIP participants.
He also thanked Ice Castle for its support during the coronation night of the Liberation queen on Wednesday.
The CNMI Little, Junior, Senior and Big League baseball players will be marching during today’s parade, Tudela said.
Team 670 is the new participant among the vehicles that will join the parade.
Tudela reminded all parade participant, particularly the floats, they are not allowed to park in front of the Kristo Rai Church after the parade.
After the parade, there will be song and dance numbers, according to Nolas Keliga, head of the Liberation Day Entertainment Committee.
Keliga said among the cultural dancers that will perform tonight are the groups from Nagoya, Japan and Ahmedabad, India.
Local entertainers like the Burning Bush Band, the Tinian Band, Penina Ole Basa and the W2NV Band will also perform.
Keliga thanked PTI, Duty Free and Budweiser for supporting and sponsoring the nightly entertainment at the Liberation carnival grounds.
