NMI first lady awards checks to three schools

Mrs. Fitial surprised the participants during the event when she announced that she would reward them for their efforts in the parade.

However, at the time, she had to make an urgent trip to the Philippines where she had to stay for several of weeks so she was not able to give the checks right away.

To keep her promise, she informed the officials of Kagman Elementary School two weeks ago that she would personally hand the checks to KagES, DES and SSHS.

The First Lady Foundation and the Carolinian Affairs Office host the Christmas Healthy Parade every year.

Last year’s participants included KagES, DES and the JROTC cadets of SSHS.
