The grant from the Coordinating Office for Terrorism Preparedness and Emergency Response will allow Public Health to respond to all types of public health incidents, including infectious disease outbreaks; natural disasters; biological, chemical, and radiological incidents; and explosions.
The PHEP program funds 62 awardees annually — the 50 states, four major metropolitan areas (Chicago, Los Angeles County, New York City, and Washington, D.C.) and eight U.S. territories and freely associated states (American Samoa, Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands, Northern Marianas, Puerto Rico, Federated States of Micronesia, the Marshall Islands and Palau).
