Babauta, who led the ribbon cutting ceremony of the $826,000 project in Agag water well field site in Capital Hill, also recognized the Fitial administration and the CNMI Water Task Force for working collaboratively to get all these projects going.
Both Gov. Benigno R. Fitial and Lt. Gov. Eloy S. Inos along with Water Task Force program manager Pete Sasamoto and Commonwealth Utilities Corp., deputy director Allan Fletcher joined Babauta in cutting the ribbon for the opening of the water well project.
In his remarks, Inos said the completion of the project further “affirms our continuing efforts to seek ways to provide higher standards of service to our community.”
The Agag water well project, he added, is another good indication of the government’s commitment to ensure that public funds are spent prudently for the benefit of our people.
A three-part project that includes two other well sites in Dandan and Gualo Rai, the Agag water well will now provide the residents of Papago better water services through the installation of new waterlines and advance distribution technology.
Inos thanked Babauta and the Office of Insular Affairs for their generous assistance in awarding the CNMI the money for the project.
He also commended the Capital Improvement Project office, the CNMI Water Task Force, and CUC for coordinating and facilitating the project along with the contractor, AIC Marianas.
“We certainly look forward to the completion of those two sites in the very near future. In an effort to see more successes like these, we will continue to support infrastructure development throughout our villages by working to secure more funding opportunities to meet our infrastructure needs throughout our Commonwealth,” Inos said.
