Visiting Judge John Allen Houston of the Southern District of California presided over the settlement conference last week, with attorney Derek W. Li who is representing EEOC, and Steven Pixley and Edward Cho, the counsels for the defendants.
Judge Houston earlier directed both parties to submit confidential settlement briefs that set forth the party’s statement of the case and the party’s settlement position, including the last offer or demand made by that party and a separate statement of the offer or demand the party is prepared to make at the settlement conference.
The EEOC sued the hotel, including 10 Does, for sexual harassment, which the defendants had denied.
