Nonresidents to celebrate friendship, solidarity on Nov. 21

The event will be held from  2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the campsite of the nonresidents outside the USCIS office at the TSL Plaza on Beach Road in Garapan.

“We invite you to celebrate our unity,” Feliciano said.

He urged participants to bring food to share.

“We come from many countries, speaking different languages, having our own customs and religions. Over many years and decades we have become one: united in solidarity, joined by mutual hardships, and bonded in one fight for justice,” Feliciano said in his invitation.

He said the nonresident workers have dedicated their years of service in the CNMI.

“We contributed our skills as laborers, teachers, nurses, mechanics, accountants, cashiers, maids, clerks, farmers, engineers, entertainers, and professionals,” he said.

The celebration is also about “friendship,” he said, adding that it is “important to join hands in appreciating each other’s generosity and assisting those who needed help.”

The nonresidents, he added, will “remain strong allies in their fight to collect their stolen wages.”

“We are linked by mutual experiences, good and bad, that cannot be broken or forgotten,” Itos said.
