A consistent honor student, he is the eldest son of Marida Pensader and Roman Ocampo.
He is also the recipient of this year’s Citizenship Award and the President’s Award for Educational Excellence.
“I feel great and proud,” he told Variety, adding that he offers all his achievements to his family for their untiring love and support.
An active member of the school’s Junior Honor Society, Ocampo has been consistent participant of Spelling Bee and the junior mock trial, and has been on the president’s and honor roll lists.
“We’re truly proud of our son and we hope he will keep up the good work and will stay humble,” Marida Pensader Ocampo said.
She described her son as obedient, quiet, shy and hardworking.
His father, Roman Ocampo, said their family will always support his son’s dreams and endeavors.
In his message, Billie Rayman Ocampo said he and his fellow graduates are just starting a long journey.
“Today we mark the end of our grade school years and the beginning of high school,” he said. “In many ways we also mark the end of our childhood and begin the journey to become young adults.”
He thanked “our parents who have supported us all the way, our teachers who have challenged our minds and prepared us for a brighter future, and our friends who have provided a friendly environment and stuck with us through the good and challenging times.”
He added, “Looking back to the day when we first started middle school, we have stayed on course and through the past years, we have completed tons of homework and class work.”
Mount Carmel School conferred the Leadership Award to Dionne Merced R. Ocampo while the Principal’s Award went to Lourence Jason Camacho.
The other students who received the President’s Award for Educational Excellence included Jason Camacho, Aydan Pastor Gagaring, Do Yi Lee and Richie Hou Hong Xu.
The recipients of the President’s Award for Educational Achievement were Sung Eun Kim, Vanessa Sablan, Tatiana Calvo, Carmen Borja, Se Youn Yim, Mira Shaila Valle, Paul Louie Cielo, Sung Woo Baik, Jonathan Sanchez, James Deleon Guerrero, Dionne Camacho, Bela Baka, Lorenzo Victor Sablan, Mariel Ferrer, Reynald Cabaltica, Sang Ha Kim and Rina Park.
